Highlights & Lowlights

Another win for the Second Amendment.

A federal judge in Virginia invalidated a set of federal restrictions that prohibit people under the age of 21 years old from purchasing a handgun from federally licensed firearm dealers, finding the rules violate the Second Amendment.

Essentially the judge said that the Constitution does not prohibit the sale of such weapons to 18 to 20 year-olds and that such a restriction is not consistent with the country’s tradition of firearms regulation.

Big Media clowns melted down claiming that the recent spate of mass shootings demonstrate the need for this restriction.  Of course, the fact that none of the shooters fell into this age range was irrelevant to the noise coming out of their mouths.

This case could be appealed to the Supreme Court.  However, without some black swan event, the Trump triplets will serve on the Court for a long time.  This is why the Democrats want the power to investigate the justices.

A provision buried in the bill to raise the debt ceiling could have far-reaching effects if it becomes law.  Government agencies propose dozens of major regulations every year.  Under a little-noticed provision in a House bill that passed this month, all of those regulations would need to come before Congress for a vote before they could go into effect.

Accountability for Congress?  I’ll believe it when I see it.

Clark Wren noted:

Spectral evidence has not been permitted at trials since Governor William Phips of Massachusetts banned it in October of 1692 from being used in the Court of Oyer and Terminer during the Salem witch trials.  However, history seems to have repeated itself.

A jury has found that Donald Trump sexually abused E. Jean Carroll.  This verdict was reached without evidence including when the “crime” was supposedly committed.  Because Trump denied the “crime,” he was found guilty of defamation.

This is the Brett Kavanaugh case all over again.

It was only a matter of time.

If they won’t go after Biden for the $10 million, who in their right mind would think they would go after Hunter?

Bud Light sales are down 30% in some areas of the country.  Fox News’ audience is down more than 50% in Tucker Carlson’s time slot.  Is there some other business that would like to break these records?

There were 49 shootings in Chicago on Mother’s Day.  If only Democrats would stop shooting people, gun violence would decline by 90%.

The alien invasion of our country has caused a hotel in Newburgh, NY to cancel 30 rooms previously booked by a couple for their wedding.  The New York Post reported:

A Florida couple has had their wedding upended after an Orange County hotel — set to take in migrants from New York City — abruptly canceled the rooms she booked for her guests, she told The Post.

“We felt discarded, disappointed and angry that they just tossed us aside to make an extra dollar for the hotel. It’s just not right,” Deanna Mifsud, 35, fumed.

Previously the hotel had kicked out 15 veterans who were living there.

Our tax dollars at work.
