Fighting For Christ

Christianity has been under constant attack around the world and in America. President Obama tried to redefine the free exercise of religion into a freedom to worship. As many of his policies indicated, one did not have the right to a free exercise of religion in the public sphere. The ultimate objective was create the mindset that the freedom to worship came from the government. It was not an inalienable right.

During this time, it was certainly not a popular position to advocate for Christianity. This was especially true among the celebrities and pop icons. The tendency to denigrate and scorn those who believe in Jesus Christ was especially strong during the Obama years. Most people remember Obama’s “bitter clingers to guns and religion” remark.

To have well-known and popular people stand up for Christianity was rare. Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney has been one of those exceptions. Swinney has been standing up for Christ throughout the dark years of the Obama presidency. Swinney will not allow his belief in Jesus Christ to be relegated only to a church on Sundays.

For those who may not know little about Swinney, he was tapped to take over Clemson’s football program in 2009. Little known at the time, Swinney has turned Clemson into a perennial winner. As Swinney says, his job is to win football games. And win games they have with a 131-30 record during his tenure. Clemson has made the Final Four of college football each of the last five seasons.

Flynn Case Chaos

Last week the DOJ filed a motion in the Michael Flynn case to dismiss the charges against Flynn “with prejudice.” This would mean that the long nightmare would be over for LTG Flynn. Certainly part of the reason the dismissal request was made was the Brady material that a US Attorney from Missouri found that had never been given to the Flynn defense. This material was exculpatory and also demonstrated that Flynn had been framed by the FBI. Other declassified material also demonstrated egregious prosecutorial misconduct.

AG Barr recognized that such material would continue to be presented to the court by Flynn’s attorney Sidney Powell. Barr also recognized that there had been a witch hunt to get Flynn. Rather than air all this dirty laundry out in a public courtroom, Barr decided to right an injustice and filed to dismiss the charges.

Free Exercise Of Religion Attacked

Fundamental liberties do not end because there is a pandemic. Individual rights in our Constitution do not disappear during a public health crisis. This does not mean that quarantine cannot be imposed if someone has been exposed to a highly communicable and/or deadly disease. However, measures taken need to be even-handed. A government entity is not permitted to discriminate against one group while allowing another group to engage in the same or similar activity. There can be no disparate treatment.

Last week Greenville, Mississippi mayor Errick Simmons, a Democrat, and the city council banned churches from hosting drive-in services.

“The City of Greenville put in place an Executive Order that orders all church buildings closed for in person and drive-in church services, until the State of Mississippi’s Shelter In Place Executive Order No. 1466 is lifted by Governor Tate Reeves. Churches are strongly encouraged to hold services via Facebook Live, Zoom, Free Conference Call, and any and all other social media, streaming, and telephonic platforms,” the order read.

The governor’s order (EO 1466) recommended that church services not be in person but, he did not prohibit drive-in services. “Mississippi is not China, and it never will be,” Reeves insisted.

Anti-religious

The anti-religious nature of the left was exposed by then Senator Obama during his 2008 campaign when he referred to many in middle America as “bitter clingers.” In those days it was directed at people who were Christian, who believed in Jesus Christ and the Bible. During his Presidency President Obama occasionally spoke of “the right to worship” but consistently moved against the free exercise of religion by Christians as defined in our Bill of Rights.

Perhaps the most glaring examples of this were the efforts by the Obama administration to force medical personnel to participate in the murdering of unborn children against their conscience. After the passage of Obamacare the Obama DOJ took several organizations to court to force them to fund coverage for such atrocities.

Once again, the bigotry of the Democrats towards people who believe in Jesus Christ raised its ugly head last week. PDJT has tasked VP Mike Pence to lead a task force on combatting the coronavirus (COVID-19) in this country. Pence held a meeting in the situation room at the White House that was reported to be quite productive. A picture emerged from the meeting showing the members of the task force with their heads bowed in prayer asking for God’s help at the start of the meeting.

Thank you Almighty God for the blessing of President Donald J Trump. Thank you for your gifts and guidance. Thank you for the abundance that you have bestowed on America. These are troubled times for some, please help them with their burdens. Please help all who suffer heartache. Please help those who carry the light of your love and wisdom in their hearts.

Thank you for the sacrifices of our service members, law enforcement personnel, and first responders who selflessly serve and protect our Nation. Thank you for the men and women in uniform who volunteer to defend our liberty, so we are able to enjoy American life. We pray for their safety, and for the families who await their safe return.

Please help our President continue to help make America great again. Please help defeat the forces of evil that seek to snuff out the flame of freedom.

Rep. Jim Jordan has been on fire during his stint on the House Intelligence Committee. Jordan has cut to the truth of the matter and destroyed the narrative that Adam Schiff and others have been fabricating regarding the Ukraine hoax.

Jordan has outlined the facts for all the world to see. Besides the fact that there is nothing wrong with what the president did, Jordan has exposed the following facts.

Obstruction Is The End Goal

An item that has not received a lot of press lately is House Judiciary Committee chairman Jerry Nadler’s attempt to unseal the grand jury testimony collected by the Special Counsel. The Special Counsel found no evidence of any crimes involving the reason for the existence of the Special Counsel. That is, there was no collusion between anyone in the Trump campaign and Russia or Russian actors. There was also no obstruction charged.

On the contrary, as is slowly being revealed in the General Michael Flynn case, there appears to be significant evidence of criminal wrongdoing within the Special Counsel’s staff. It appears that they tried to entrap Flynn and, when that failed, they doctored transcripts of his testimony to make it appear that he lied to Federal investigators. How far and how widespread this illicit conduct goes is unclear at this time. Sydney Powell, Flynn’s attorney, is apparently about to file a motion to dismiss the Flynn case “due to egregious misconduct” on the part of the government.

Deplorables

This is an excellent video if a bit long (26 minutes). It really speaks to the heart of the matter for all concerned on both sides of the Atlantic. It is a well-presented argument for the validity of the US/UK “populist” movement and the tone-deafness of those who oppose it.

Unelected bureaucrats in the EU should not rule of the citizens of each EU country. Did the people of the EU know, when the EU was created, that was the template for governance?

Christianity Under Fire

Religious liberty is, perhaps, the most fundamental liberty that all Americans enjoy. However, you wouldn’t know it looking at the Democratic presidential candidates. They appear to embrace the Obama view of religion. That is, you are free to worship on Sunday. However, following God’s Word in the public square is not permitted if it contravenes Democratic talking points and the Party’s view of how people should think. Obama’s vision of religion was very closely in line with Josef Stalin’s.

Chicago’s Francis Cardinal George once wrote:

“Freedom of worship was guaranteed in the Constitution of the former Soviet Union. You could go to church, if you could find one. The church, however, could do nothing except conduct religious rites in places of worship — no schools, religious publications, health care institutions, organized charity, ministry for justice and works of mercy that flow naturally from a living faith. We fought a long Cold War to defeat that vision of society.”
