Former NFL player Burgess Owens spoke at the Republican National Convention. It is a pity that the NFL today doesn’t have more men such as Burgess Owens. His comeback story after he left the NFL is one for all to hear.
Jack Brewer, a former NFL player and a lifelong Democrat, talked about his support for PDJT. Brewer talked about growing up and witnessing racism. As he noted, that is not President Trump. Brewer said that the insults of people who dislike the fact that he’s black and supports Trump only serve to stiffen his support for the President.
An acquaintance in another state sent me some pictures of more COVID-19 insanity. The media has been hugely successful at propagating a fake narrative about what would happen if you get exposed to the virus. This has terrified many people. This has led to this kind of idiocy among those administer to a school population that has a near zero chance of suffering a serious outcome from the virus.

Last week, 24-year-old Jessica Doty Whitaker was shot to death following an argument with Black Lives Matter supporters. According to her family, the BLM supporters shouted “Black lives matter” at her and her group, to which they replied, “All lives matter.”
According to her fiancee, he and the victim and two other people were hanging out along a canal near Indianapolis when someone in their group used a slang version of the N-word. That word prompted a confrontation by a group of strangers.
It is becoming increasingly obvious that our system of “higher” education is closed off to students with conservative viewpoints. Such students are pilloried for their views. They are doxxed and smeared in an attempt to get them removed from the college or university where they are attending. Many of these smear campaigns are outright lies used to enrage the mob so that school administrators will cave to their demands.
The Jesuits were once renowned for their intellectual rigor. Any person who graduated from a Jesuit-run institution was presumptively well educated, morally centered, and capable of reasoning. Marquette University is one such Jesuit institution. Marquette has consistently been highly ranked among American universities.
News is now surfacing that some NCAA conferences are punting on a full football season. Why this is happening is a topic for another post. While many of us have recognized for some time that higher education in this country has been compromised on the altar of political correctness, the recent lack of intestinal fortitude by Penn State is stunning.
Alinsky Rule 13. “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.
Does this sound familiar? We are seeing this played out hundreds, no thousands of times across the country. Someone says “All lives matter.” People storm his/her residence. “Protesters” force the employer to get rid of that person. A public official is forced to resign because of some remark that is twisted out of shape. A picture is taken that appears to show something that isn’t there. That person is fired from his job. The mob comes after the person’s spouse or parent or child. Acquaintances shun you or worse yet, label you with some convenient shaming label.
Hillsdale College is one of an exceedingly small number of colleges that does not take federal money of any kind. As highlighted on their website, they offer an education “designed to equip human beings for self-government.” They teach that “freedom can only last if you and I choose to act as people of character.” They do this without bowing down to demands from our federal government of what a college education should be.
Founded in 1844 by Baptists, Hillsdale is a non-sectarian institution whose teachings are “informed by Christianity’s moral teachings.” Its founders were abolitionists and feminists so the college has admitted blacks and women since its founding.
With Joe Biden’s recent statements regarding the military removing PDJT from office, concerns have surfaced that Biden’s statements were a “dog whistle” to members of the military who owe their positions to former President Obama. Some have suggested that it is nearing time to have the military remove PDJT from office.
As preposterous as this may sound, this was followed up by a letter, penned by an anonymous author, to the graduating class at West Point. The letter attacked PDJT as commander-in-chief and others within the military structure as failing to uphold their oaths. It was intended to sow discord within the ranks. Some might perceive this as an invitation to mutiny.
