Negotiations on a border wall continue.  Supposedly a deal has been reached.  It is not clear if real progress has been made.  The Democrats apparently dropped their proposal to limit the number of detained immigrants caught inside the U.S. to a daily average of 16,500.  There is currently no such limit.

This is insane.  That’s like saying that the number of people detained for murder, assault, robbery, rape, etc., in this country should be limited to a specific number each day.  Do the Democrats want to encourage more crime in America?  That is just what this proposal would do. Hopefully this was fake bargaining position so that they could say that they compromised their position.  However, I doubt this is the case.  The fact that such a position is ridiculous is irrelevant to them.

What will be the next move by Democrats to denigrate and diminish private school education, particularly religious schools, both Catholic and Jewish?

Judge Kavanaugh’s high school Georgetown Prep was defamed and slandered during the Judge’s confirmation process.  Based on the hearings one would believe that all that ever went on there was drunkenness, orgies, and a lack of respect for people in general and women in particular. The MSM tried to paint the school as indifferent to the activities of its students.  While the main purpose was defame Brett Kavanaugh, if a side effect was the diminishing the education provided there, that was fine with the Democrats. ...

The government shutdown continues.  I, for one, hope that it continues for a long time.  A few years back, Washington was shut down for a week due to a blizzard.  Nobody noticed.  Not that I wish difficulties for those not receiving a paycheck.  I certainly empathize with those families who must make difficult financial decisions. Rather a long shutdown would demonstrate what services we really need from the Federal Government and what we do not need.  It would show everyone just how bloated the government is.  I wonder if the left realizes what might happen if the shutdown lasts a long time. ...
