The Flynn case continues to have its unexpected twists and turns. The Washington Post headline reports another twist:
“Federal judge hires high-powered D.C. attorney to defend his actions in Flynn case.”
A quick review of how we got here.
Last week acting DNI Ric Grenell forced the release by Adam Schiff of the transcripts that Schiff had been refusing to release. These were transcripts of testimonies given by dozens of witnesses. These showed that many Democratic TV personalities have lied over and over when on TV broadcasts about elements of the Russian Collusion hoax.
What garnered far less attention at the time was the fact that DNI Grenell delivered a second set of documents to AG Barr on the same day. At the time no one seemed to know just what was in those documents.
A stunning court filing on Monday in a Texas Federal District Court has revived a story long derided by the DNC and those who support them in the MSM. The defamation lawsuit, filed by Texas businessman Ed Butowsky, alleges Wikileaks’ Julian Assange confirmed to Fox News analyst Ellen Ratner that the DNC emails supposedly hacked by Russians were actually received from Seth Rich and his brother Aaron.

PDJT launched his 2020 re-election campaign in Orlando on Tuesday in front of the largest crowd ever at a Presidential campaign stop. The energy in Orlando was incredible. PDJT was really stoked.
On Monday, under the auspices of Chairman Nadler, the House Judiciary Committee began impeachment proceedings against PDJT. The committee session is called Lessons from the Mueller Report: Presidential Obstruction and Other Crimes.
A week or so ago, Julie Pace, an anti-Trumper who pretends to be an impartial journalist, went on CNN, the network that is shedding employees like there is no tomorrow. And that may be the case for CNN. Pace reported that Pelosi knows that she cannot win an impeachment proceeding. The Senate will not convict on whatever made-up charges that the Democrats concoct. Pelosi and her entrenched Democratic brethren are not interested in pursuing legitimate legal inquiries into PDJT. They are a lot more interested in doing opposition research for the 2020 election and “impeachment” proceedings may be the vehicle for doing that.
To get into the big picture about the origins of Spygate, there is a lot that one needs to ignore. Allowing oneself to get caught up in emotion, whether it be righteous anger or unbridled outrage, will lead to being distracted from the real origins of the attacks against this country and this administration.
Not that there is nothing here to be outraged or upset over. There is much here that makes the blood boil. It is difficult to know where to start.
On Thursday night PDJT issued a memo which gave AG Barr specific powers and marching orders relating to declassifying matters relevant to the Russia investigation and its origins. What exactly is the authority that PDJT has delegated to AG Barr?
To understand this one first has to understand what the President’s authority is on classification and declassification. The President has the power to classify and declassify anything. This makes sense since he is the commander-in-chief. Independent experts as well as experts on both sides of the aisle agree concerning this legal power of the president. Whether such actions are wise or not is another story.
Normal classification and declassification duties are usually performed by people lower in the food chain so to speak. This is because they have been delegated to do so, usually by an appointee chosen by the President. These kinds of activities take place in many different departments within the federal government.
